Sad News

I'm afraid something has gotten the little birds. I went out to check the nest today and it is empty. I did hear the father bird in the tree. We had a bad storm last night. The nest is closer to the ground. I did not find anything (remains or such), but the fact that there was nothing there makes me fear the worst has happened.

Mamma Bird Today

Today's picture of mamma bird as requested. You can see the white stripes that are over her eyes. You can see a little bit of baby. They are starting to get feathers. She has been on the nest most of the time, so I can't get a very good shot of just the babies. The father bird sits in the tree and chirps at me.

Guess who's here???

This morning I went out to the garden to get some tomatoes and I was met with this nice surprise! I was so excited I went running back into the house.

Birds Nest In Our Tomatoes- Take Two

We found this birds nest in our tomatoes a couple of weeks ago. We think it is a wren's nest. It has 4 eggs. The mother is on the nest most of the time now and she doesn't fly away even when I'm picking tomatoes about 6 inches from her. There is a whole bunch of tomatoes right above her nest. I have picked the biggest one so that it doesn't fall on the eggs.
If you look really close in this picture you can see the momma bird in the middle looking up at me.
