Salsa...and I'm not talking about dancing!

On Monday when my mom was here, she showed me how to make her salsa. It's not complicated at all, and it was very yummy. I chopped up tomatoes, onion, and banana peppers from our garden (no real measurements). Then added a little bit of sugar to cut the acidity of the tomatoes (maybe about 1/2 tsp for this little batch. Finally we added a little bit (approx 1/2 Tablespoon) of Mrs. Wages salsa mix (found at your local Walmart). The salsa mix comes in a pouch, but you do not have to follow the directions on the back. It's a good fresh salsa. Tim doesn't care for the chunks, so the next batch I may try to puree in the blender.

The weather around here...

has not been very conducive to line drying clothes. We got close to 2 1/2 inches of rain yesterday (it seems that most of that came between 5:30 and 6:30 am with lots of lightning and thunder). The vegetables like it though. Here are the green peppers. A big one...
and a little bitty one!Along with some really pretty clouds.
The tomatoes are really starting to multiply! Check out the cute little one on the right hand side. It only ended up being about the size of a cherry tomato. I do not have a green thumb, but these tomatoes have done really well this year. I like them because they are not real watery and don't have a lot of seeds. They are called "First Lady".
