Making the Best

OK, I better preface this post by letting you know what has gone on here the past week. On Monday, Ethan looked like he was getting a cold and it was all settling into his eyes and nose. On Tuesday, I found out at work that a little girl we had been with on Friday had pink eye. On Wednesday I took Ethan to the Dr. and found out that he has pink eye and an ear infection. Also had her check Isaiah who was just starting to get the goopy eyes. He also had pink eye and an ear infection. Tyler was OK, didn't have him checked. 20 minutes after we leave the Dr. (on the way to pick up prescriptions), his eyes start getting goopy. The next day he decides his ear hurts, but it's an on again off again thing.

So we have been doing eye drops and antibiotics around here this week. And some people are not happy about it...
Yep, that's a "no more eye drops" sign made by Ethan. I'm not sure which one of us hates them more!

So this morning for breakfast I decided to make the best of a bad situation. I made a special breakfast for my boys.

"Pink Eye Pancakes" (See you can do this kind of stuff when you have boys. They think it's really cool!)

Then we put syrup "eye drops" on our pink eye pancakes all the while saying "I hate eye drops", "no more eye drops", and "ahhhhhh"!

It was great fun and rather tasty. I did think about calling the butter "eye goopy", but decided not to go there.

Thankfully, 2 out of 3 look to be on the mend. Only 3 more days of eye drops....

How awesome! I love the idea and may steal it the next time we have that problem. I guess I could have made rice when we had the lice problem.....

They hurt less the sooner you catch the pink eye and the Similisan ones (OTC) can stop it before you need the doctor ones if you catch it.
