Peach Festival

Last night we went to the peach festival. Matthew's church does a lot there. They have a basket auction every year. People donate baskets full of different things and then they auction them off. This was the last basket auctioned and it was one Matthew made. It was called the "Corn Hole Basket". It came with the corn hole game, a dozen ears of sweet corn, and moon pies". It went for $140 I think. I bid on the grill thing to the right of it. I bid on it, but it also went for about $140. The proceeds go to the church building fund and local food pantry. Lochlyn won a stamper at one of the games and he was trying to give Uncle Tim a stamp! The boys have stamps all down their legs and on their arms.
There was a pre 1840's re-enactment camp. My mom and I went down to look at that while Tim and my dad took turns pushing the boys on the swings nearby. It was really neat and the people were fun to talk to. That time period fascinates me and it was fun to see all the neat things they had at their campsites.
I just thought this guy was too cute not to take a picture!
We ended the evening by eating peach ice cream. It was a fun night, but very hot outside before the sun went down.

Do you mean the guy in the cowboy hat? That was the auctioneer. He's distantly related to me.
