My Nativity

Here is a picture of my nativity scene that was made for me by my Grandpa L. It was given to me in 1996. I love all of the little details that he put into it. It is special to me because it is made from wood that came from a barn that we used to play in as kids. That barn had lots of memories and eventually fell down due to age. My grandpa has made many things out of the wood, but this is my favorite. The three wise men are even different colors of the barn. My grandpa also made the sheep with their long ears pointing down which is typical of sheep from the holy land region. (My grandparents have visited there). Since it's only out for a short time each year, I always forget exactly what it looks like. It is a pleasant surprise every year to get it back out.

That is so special. I have nothing like that. You are very lucky to have so many homemade things.

I don't remember ever seeing that. It is beautiful. I would leave it out year round on a special shelf!
