On Top

Every once in awhile (and I mean awhile), I feel like I am on top of things at home. It happens every 6 months or so and lasts all of 2-3 days before chaos reigns once more. I make promises every time, that THIS will be the time that I hold onto it and never lose control again. Ha.

Anyways, today is one of those days. The dishes are done, laundry is done and put away and all the rooms are straightened. The bathroom is even cleaned. What's a girl to do? Yesterday I even recycled my January 2008 issue of Country Living and that afternoon the February issue came. How's that for being on top?!

Let me also add that no one EVER drops by when your house is clean. It's like a guarantee that no one will visit you.

In a little bit we'll do school. I hope to get some cookies baked and the boys want to go out and play in the snow. If I can find all the ingredients, I want to make Charity's Potato Soup for supper.

Update: Amanda's mother in law was being transferred to Toledo Hospital last night or this morning. She is going to be seen by an infectious disease specialist to get a second opinion about amputating her leg. Please continue to keep their entire family in your prayers.

Oh wait, I finally remembered what I could do today. I can work on my Christmas cards!

Maybe I'm not on top after all.

if it helps at all, we all feel this way. I get the house in total shape every time I have an interview and within one week, it is all messed up again.

i tell myself all the time to just do the best i can ensuring that the boys do not remember a dirty house BUT beyond that, it really doesn't matter. I also try and keep it clean (which I do okay) just not straightened all the time. I am very afraid that I will regret how much energy I spent worrying about my house. Who cares as long as it is safe and disinfected??
Good luck holding on this time!!

Good for you, no matter how long it last. I love that feeling too. I don't have it often but it is nice.

Christmas cards...good idea, how about valentine's instead?

Woohoo - I'm glad you are staying on top of things. It does feel good when that happens. You are doing great! Keep up the good work! I know you can, I know it!
I can come over if you want - to see your clean home. hehe
I hope you like the soup tonight.
I want a Christmas card, or a Valentine's day card - with a picture. :)
