I have a problem

I'm addicted to books. I can't deny it. I'm surrounded by people who have the same problem (ahem Charity) and to a lesser degree Amanda, my mom, and mother in law. I have always loved books for as long as I can remember. In 7th and 8th grade I think I got 2nd and 3rd place in the read a thon only to be beat by my friend Kristy. I used to read under the dinner table and under the covers with a flashlight. I just feel like there is so much information to absorb! Just when I think I have all the "greatest" books, I find another and another and....

Anyways, last night I decided I was going to start cleaning off my bookshelf. It has been bothering me for awhile, because the books have gotten scrambled into no special order. There have been seasonal books that I wanted to read to the boys and couldn't find. So, I took all but one shelf of books off last night and started sorting them on the bedroom floor. The bottom shelf has homeschooling type books.

Here is a before picture:

There are also books in Isaiah's room, books in the living room and by my bed on a small nightstand.

Wow, that is a lot of books. I do not have that problem. I love buying children's books but not ones for me...no time to read them. Reading is so good for you so I am glad you have such a healthy obession. It is susposed to lower stress levels, make you smarter and clear your mind.

Well, I'd have to say that 2/3 of my books are Children's books. I have been buying them and loved them since before I was married. I buy ones now that I like, not necessarily ones my boys will like.

The books that I like alot of informational books, like self help type books and Christian books. Dawson loves books too so he has a big collection of his own. I need to reorganize all of ours too.

I love books!! I really should take a picture of all of our books. I need to go through them and get rid of some of them. I'll pass them on to Lura. There are so many that bring back memories of Jacob reading them when he was little that it's hard to get rid of some of them. I have learned to take pictures of things the boys have made so I can get rid of them. I could probably take pictures of books.
I can't wait to go to half price books again! I have coupons for every month now. Woohoo!
Come with me Lura! You know you wanna!

have you ever been to a half-price books store? there is one in North Olmsted. I can literally spend hours in there! Tanis loves it too, since he knows he will usually end up getting something. Great prices, usually lots of things for about a dollar or two. you can also sell your old books there, although i don't know how people part with books.

I too love to read. Ryan loves books too. I have gotten to the point now where I read them and pass them on or sell them at yard sales. I only collect my favorite author and the rest are read and they move on to new homes. Now Ryan's books are a different story.
