First Day of Preschool 2008

Today was our first official day of "preschool". While I'm not a huge advocate of preschool, I do feel that I need to get into some sort of routine for homeschooling next year. Here is the obligatory first day of school picture.

Here is Ethan crying less than one minute after we started. He was upset because I told him we couldn't have any airplanes (or other toys) at the table.
Here is the chair that Isaiah was supposed to be sitting in. Notice it's empty.
Little brother hangs off the table while older brothers put together puzzles of their names.
Ethan practices in his new workbook and apparently on his arm.
Learning is messy.
At this point, school was officially done, but I guess you could call this recess.
Isaiah riding his motorcycle (that's what it is when the handlebars are backwards, according to him).
A lesson in recycling.
Art class.
I hope you enjoyed your look into our first day. We try to "keep it real" around here. None of that perfection stuff for us!

cool!! Looks like fun. If that child had a helmet on, you could call this perfection (and had a piece of whole wheat bread in his mouth)

Oh man. Every other day he would have had his helmet on. He had the whole wheat bread for breakfast and supper. Wow, the day was better than I thought it was!

ha! You are a goof!

oh and one more thing...what does a small toy at the table hurt? and I am the mean mom?

Sean wants to know why your children need to wear helmets for homeschooling? Is it that dangerous? Do they throw the hard crusts of the wheat bread at each other's heads? He is very concerned. Also, he is interested in when you start the sex ed unit. I think he wants to reserve a seat. ha! Okay, that last bit was from me. But he does still have the "special shirt" that you love if you need it for the lesson.

Oh that is funny! I would be mad if Ryan's teacher made him cry! Meanie! Even in first grade they could bring a small toy to put on their desk.

I don't know anything about it and I only heard it on the radio so the site might be .org or have an -ing or something. But I heard about www.publicschoolathome.com. You might want to check it out, I don't even really know what is about but I wanted to let you know.

My boys like to ride with backwards handlebars too! Their bikes are motorcycles all the time though...with the handlebars in any position
