Washing Woes

I took this picture 10 days ago when we had that really nice weather. It was a perfect day for drying laundry outside. It was sunny and windy. I know I've mentioned before that I love my clothesline! The past week or so has not been real conducive to hanging laundry outside (although the Mennonites around here still do it- I wonder how clothes that freeze get dry?). This morning Tim woke me up to ask me if I had just started the dryer. I hadn't, so apparently, the dryer had been running for the past 5-6 hours. The timer must be bad. The clothes were definitely dry.

okay, this is my nerdy side coming out, but - in one of the "little house" books, laura described bringing in frozen laundry off the line. apparently, when it freezes, the water is mostly all gone, so when it warms up, it's dry. It would be hard to store them until they warmed up, though.

Actually, I admire you for hanging your clothes outside at all. We tried it a few times last summer, but it just never worked out well.

That makes sense, Kellie, and I don't think you're nerdy at all. Ha ha!

I don't think it's much work at all. It takes a few mintues to hang up and a few to take down. If I ever want to stay home full time, I have to find ways to save money somewhere, even if it's only a little bit.
